 AKRAM KHAN
Akram Khan Company

Akram Khan, one of the most original and celebrated contemporary dancer-choreographers on the international scene, collaborated with Oscar-winning actress Juliette Binoche to create In-I, a new work of theatre and dance launched to the media by Kallaway.

Acclaimed for his physicality and hybrid dance language rooted in the ancient Indian dance of kathak, Akram Khan is evolving constantly to embrace new art forms and collaborations. Months ahead of the opening night, Kallaway announced the collaboration by staging a major press conference and photocall at the National Theatre. Kallaway managed the international and national PR, recommended the best opportunities, supervised photoshoots and guided the artists through numerous press and television interviews.

Features were negotiated in key life style titles such as Vogue magazine (syndicated to Vogue internationally) through to leading UK broadsheets including The Times, Saturday Magazine, ES Magazine, The Observer, The Independent. Television appearances secured by Kallaway include the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show, BBC Breakfast and Breakfast with Frost on Al Jazeera. Kallaway also secured the prestigious BBC arts programme, Imagine, to make an hour long documentary on Akram’s life and work. The programme was broadcast in October 2008.

Kallaway continues to represent Akram Khan Company and its new productions which include a new solo work by Akram Khan, Gnosis, which will have its premiere as part of the Indian festival Svapnagata at Sadler's Wells in November 2009 and a new company work which will premiere in the autumn of 2010.
