Inverclyde Schools' Junior Choir

The Inverclyde Schools' Junior Choir was formed in November 1998 to allow children from the local schools in Inverclyde to come together on a weekly basis to make music and foster an enjoyment of singing. It is a large choir with a current membership of nearly 100 children from all local primary and secondary schools in Inverclyde which is a small local authority on the west coast of Scotland about 20 miles from Glasgow. The choir were semi-finalists in the Sainsbury's Choir of the Year 2000 competition and finalists in the 2002 and 2004 competition performing in Buxton and Manchester. The children are currently preparing for their appearance in BBC Proms in the Park in September 2006 as well as several concerts in the latter part of this year.
