Russian ACT
Russian ACT in London (22 November 2007
- 27 April 2008)
Russian ACT, now in its fourth year,
brings a hugely varied and exciting programme
of Russian culture and events to London
providing an insight into the arts and culture
of the country that Churchill referred to
as a 'riddle wrapped inside an enigma'.
This year's Russian ACT includes the first
major UK retrospective of work by Russian
photographer Alexander Rodchenko taking
place at the Hayward; a season of films
by legendary Russian director Andrei Tarkovsky
at Curzon Mayfair and the opportunity to
see AES+F's The Last Riot, one of the hits
of this year's Venice Biennale at Tate Britain.
A strong musical line-up includes performances
by jazz legends Arkady Shilkoper and Sax
Mafia as part of the London Jazz Festival;
the vituoso pianist Yeugeny Sudbin at Wigmore
Hall and young folk duo Zventa Sventana
at Cargo.
Russian ACT is organised by: marka:face:fashion
and supported by the
Russian Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography.
