The Unicorn Theatre, supported by Molecule Theatre, presents Play Antarctica, a theatrical and musical journey composed by Craig Vear, directed by Tony Graham. Extraordinary puppetry is provided by Sean Myatt with Steve Tiplady acting as Puppetry Adviser.
Penguins, puppets and paper. Play Antarctica is based on the real life journey of musician Craig Vear, who in late 2003 made field recordings of life in the mysterious frozen world of Antarctica for an electronic symphony. Craig Vear set out to discover the silence and the natural music of this awe-inspiring continent, but along the way he found something that lies at the heart of every great adventure ….
Craig Vear, an electro-acoustic composer, is a winner of the joint fellowship with Arts Council England and British Antarctic Survey’s Artists and Writer Programme, which funded his trip to Antarctica.
