Baileys Prize Book Bar goes global to reach 118m worldwide
The Baileys Prize Book Bar is held annually as part of Baileys’ sponsorship of the Women’s Prize for Fiction. This week long pop-up event in London’s Waterstones Tottenham Court Road is a celebration of outstanding fiction by women, accompanied by delicious Baileys cocktails.
But how do you take an already successful event series and amplify it to engage a wider audience?
We did this by turning the private passion of reading into a social activity, enjoyed in The Baileys Prize Book Bar as well as online across the UK and around the world, reaching over 118 million people.
The basement of Waterstones Tottenham Court Road was transformed into a haven for guests to relax and enjoy outstanding fiction while sipping specially created Baileys flat white martini cocktails.
While inspirational writers including Val McDermid, Kate Mosse, and Sara Pascoe enthused about the books that they love, Facebook Live broadcasts enabled book-lovers across the world to tune in and feel part of the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction.
The events sparked conversations online as users swapped reading lists and shared their love of books across the Baileys Prize social channels.
All this, plus a Baileys cocktail-making evening with master mixologists, introduced a brand new audience to the Prize and Baileys.
Stay tuned for the winner announcement on 7 June.
